ANIMAL WELLBEING

ANIMAL WELLBEING
From large areas to roam to learning their favorite meals after pregnancy, we like to go above and beyond for our animals. We believe it not only honors their life, but also leads to healthier, richer meats.
COMMUNITY INVESTMENT

From local events, to lending a hand, to investing in the local businesses, we believe in the importance of investing in our rural community.

LAND STEWARDSHIP
We are grateful for the land we stand on and all it provides us and our community. As the current stewards of this land, we engage in a number of sustainable practices like crop-rotation, closed-loop agriculture, forest management, and much more.
FAMILY FARM

We are a team of six, including our three sons and daughter. Our operation may be small, but we see it as an advantage, allowing us to put extra care into everything we do.
TALK OF THE FARM
How did we already get to July? It’s been a whirlwind of a spring that’s ramped up into a full summer swing. We’re now at farmers markets five days a week, including stops in Kalkaska, Mancelona, Boyne City, and Petoskey. With a more “normal” growing season this year, things might feel a bit behind compared to the early harvests we’ve seen in recent years—but rest assured, the produce is coming in strong.

We’re harvesting summer squash, snap peas, Swiss chard, and just starting to see the first flush of cucumbers and tomatoes. Our second batch of pasture-raised chickens is out on grass, and the pigs are enjoying the sunshine and scraps. It’s a busy season, but we’re grateful for every connection made at market, every returning face, and the growing support for local food. Thanks for being part of our farm family—we’re glad you’re here.
